Lucia Miranda, LE, CCMA, is a licensed esthetician at the esteemed Shafer Clinic Fifth Avenue in New York City. With over a decade of combined experience in the health and medical fields, Lucia has honed her expertise while working closely with one of New York City’s most renowned dermatologists, Dr. Dendy Engelman, and plastic surgeon, Dr. David Shafer. She counts many VIPs and celebrities among her loyal clientele and is often featured in the press

An early adopter of EVERESSE, the Shafer Clinic continues to be booked with treatments to this day. In this exclusive interview with Lucia, we learn more about why EVERESSE became so popular for her clientele.

The Best Results with no downtime

Q: Why did you decide to bring EVERESSE into your practice?

LM: We were looking for a comfortable treatment that could visibly tone and lift the skin without adding downtime. A lot of my patients come in concerned about jowls, sagging eyelids, and skin laxity on the abdomen, and EVERESSE was the one that delivered the best results.

Q: Did you consider any similar technologies, and if so, what made you ultimately decide on EVERESSE?

LM: We did! We evaluated several other technologies, including XERF, Density, and other energy-based devices. We found that EVERESSE consistently delivered the results we were looking for with fewer treatments and the most comfortable experience for the patient.

Q: How would you rate your experience with EVERESSE as a provider?

LM: I'd give it a 9.5 out of 10. It's been a really positive experience; it's very straightforward, patients tolerate it really well, and you see improvement over time. The only reason it's not a 10 is because I have a handful of patients with veneers who can be a little more sensitive during treatment. Other than that, it's amazing.

Q: What trends or shifts have you observed in the injectable and aesthetic business in the last 12-24 months? How does EVERESSE align with these trends?

LM: Patients are moving away from looking "done" and are much more interested in collagen stimulation, prevention, and natural-looking results. They're asking how to age well. EVERESSE fits perfectly into that shift because it improves skin quality in a very natural way.

VERSATILE APPLICATIONS

Q: Who do you typically recommend an EVERESSE treatment to? Is there a patient type or condition that you feel responds best?

LM: It's great for early signs of aging, loss of elasticity, crepey skin, fine lines, and patients who simply want to improve overall skin quality. The 35-60 age demographic responds especially well because these patients are looking for ways to maintain a youthful appearance while still looking natural.

Q: Do you combine EVERESSE with other treatments/services in your practice?

LM: Absolutely! I often combine it with pigment correcting laser treatments, biostimulatory injectables or advanced facials depending on the patient's goals and they are always impressed.

Q: What are your favorite areas to treat?

LM: The lower face is definitely my favorite area to treat, but I also love to treat the eyelids and periocular area. One of the things I appreciate most about Everesse is how easy it is to customize using the different tip sizes. Every patient walks in with a different concern, and having a treatment that can be adjusted to meet those needs has been really valuable.

Sustained Success

Q: How many treatments do you perform on average?

LM: It varies depending on the season, but I typically perform between 8-12 treatments each week, and the number continues to grow as more patients become familiar with EVERESSE.

Q: What do you typically charge for an EVERESSE treatment?

LM: Pricing depends on the treatment areas but they usually start at $1,500 and can go up to $5,000 for full face and neck.

Q: From a business standpoint, what impact has EVERESSE had on your practice?

LM: It's been a great addition to our practice. In the first year, we performed approximately 145 treatments, with each one ranging from $1,500-3,000. The revenue generated from these treatments alone was enough to essentially cover my annual salary. It has also attracted new patients who are specifically looking for effective, non-invasive treatments, while also giving our existing advanced-treatment patients another option to maintain their results and stay lifted between treatments.

Q: How likely are you to recommend EVERESSE to a colleague?

LM: Extremely likely! It's actually become my go-to answer whenever someone asks, "If you were stranded on a deserted island and could only take one device, what would it be?" My answer is always EVERESSE.
