Body Contouring

Body sculpting, or body contouring, refers to a variety of surgical and non-surgical treatments aimed at reducing fat, building muscle, tightening skin, or a combination of the above. The most common treatment areas are the thighs, abdomen, upper arms, love handles, and glutes.

This can be achieved through several techniques, including freezing fat cells through cryolipolysis, using heat energy to destroy fat cells or tighten skin, and using electrical muscle stimulation to re-educate muscles.

Body contouring provides a number of aesthetic benefits including fat elimination, muscle building, body shaping, and skin tightening. Common non-invasive body contouring techniques use technologies such as cold, lasers, and radiofrequency, offering effective results without the risks and extended recovery associated with surgical options like tucks, lifts, and liposuction.

Minimally invasive procedures such as laser-assisted lipolysis provide an option in between traditional surgery and non-invasive treatments. Minimally invasive procedures may allow the patient to achieve the desired result without undergoing full anesthesia or going into the OR, and the downtime is typically shorter as well. 

Body contouring treatments can range in terms of comfort depending on their level of invasiveness, but typically they involve minimal discomfort. Non-invasive treatments could include slight sensations of heat or tingling during treatments, such as RF microneedling, laser, or electrical muscle stimulation (EMS).

Minimally invasive procedures provide an option with reduced downtime, reduced pain, and shorter recovery compared to traditional surgical procedures. 

The exact number of treatments needed can vary based on individual goals and the recommendations of your provider, as well as the body area being treated. On average, at least 2-3 treatments are recommended for non-invasive body treatments.
